To ensure consistency in the delivery of arts-related outcomes and LLP-specific outcomes across the domains of arts education, GSS adopts the artistic process of appreciating, creating, presenting/ performing and responding as the pedagogical approach for the school’s arts curriculum and co-curriculum. These artistic processes focus on the following:

     i. In appreciating, students are involved in discussing and relating to the values of the respective art form and how this art               form applies in their lives and societies across cultures.

    ii. In creating, students apply the skills, techniques and processes, and design new materials for the various the arts form.

   iii. In presenting/performing, students will gain the opportunities to put to practice and showcase their skills in the art form.

   iv. In responding, students will learn to think critically and show confidence in their ability to make judgements of art works in          written and oral form that is appropriate and representative of the art form.

Broad-based learning opportunities will be provided for all students across all levels through Arts Expose and Arts Enrich, as follows: 
     i.Arts Expose

      - Creating authentic opportunities for students to be exposed to the richness and potential of various arts forms
      - Engaging in these opportunities excite and motivate students to venture into arts learning by making arts come alive through         activities


    ii. Arts Enrich

      - Providing learning experiences that can broaden students’ horizons and build their knowledge, skills and attitudes in arts
   

   iii. Arts Excel

      - Students with interest and ability in the arts will be provided with opportunities to develop their artistic talents.  Identified           students in the upper secondary level, will be provided with opportunities for them to take ownership of their arts learning by       initiating and completing arts projects (through the arts curriculum or co-curriculum).  For example, co-organising concerts and       in-house art exhibits or initiating VIA projects through the arts.  Students with higher interest and ability will be provided with         opportunities to deepen their engagement and develop mastery in a selected arts form. These opportunities will be part of           extension through the Arts CCA such as masterclass for the arts students, and external competitions such as the W6 cluster           arts-related competitions, SYF Arts Presentation and international arts-related competitions. These serve as platforms for                 students to benchmark their artistic standards. 

Based on our three thrusts of Arts Education in GSS, LLP@GSS has defined a set of LLP-specific learning outcomes:
   
  i. Learning About the Arts

      • Social-Cultural Sensitivity and Awareness 
      • Civic Literacy
